List of Cell Phones That Use Micro USB Chargers

Today's cell phones tend to use one proprietary type of charger. That device is the micro USB. Essentially, all of the major wireless carriers in the United States — Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint — as well as prepaid networks offer this type of charger with their smartphones. The only exception is the iPhone as Apple had its own 30-pin connection from the original generation up until the iPhone 4S in 2011. The iPhone 5 has a redesigned much smaller 9-pin connector. You can expect generally all other types of phones to accept the proprietary USB charger.

The popularity of this type of charger is obvious as every type of smartphone and many feature phones and flip phones utilize it as a quick and easy way to charge the battery in a hurry. One of the reasons why this type of charger is so popular and widely used is due to the fact that it is compatible with many additional devices and can simply plug right into your computer for not only charging but syncing.

In terms of a list of cell phones that utilize this type of charger, it is easy to distinguish them. Android powered phones; BlackBerry and Windows Phones use it. A great example of an Android smartphone that uses this type of USB charger is the HTC One. It runs on the 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and has a very slim form factor with its aluminum unibody, making it the perfect smartphone for micro USB charging. It includes a 4.7-inch HD screen with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels and includes a slew of great features that can enhance your photos and videos.

The BlackBerry Z10 is another great example of a cell phone that takes the charger in question. It runs on the newest BlackBerry 10 operating system and is generally all about moving forward. The Z10 is a departure from all previous BlackBerry smartphones as it lacks the physical QWERTY keyboard that has long been associated with the brand. Instead, it sports a 4.2-inch touchscreen. The device has 16GB of internal storage and a micro SD slot for expansion of up to 64GB.

Windows Phone 8 is one of the latest platforms, and it has gained great popularity as it recently overtook BlackBerry as the third most popular smartphone group. There are multiple manufacturers that produce these phones, from Nokia to HTC to Samsung to Huawei. Windows Phones are known not only for being colorful, sporting live tiles and great social integration but for their universal mini USB chargers as well.
